Travonna WoottonTravonna Wootton lives on a farm near Willow, Oklahoma, a small town nestled deep in the southwest corner of the state. Her husband, Verlin, is a commercial watermelon and peanut farmer. He is active in their local church serving as treasurer and teaching a Sunday School class. He is also assistant fire chief of the Willow Volunteer Fire Department and serves on the Farm Bureau Board. Together they’re blessed with three sons, two daughters-in-law and six grandchildren.

Travonna was reared in Willow but never on a farm. She was a city girl for over 30 years, living in many states and raising a family with her late husband, Jim. Now, she has come full circle, back to her hometown. Travonna says, “I know God has a sense of humor because I always said I would never marry a farmer.”

Her tales of life on the farm are hilarious. The locals refer to Wootton Farms as “Green Acres”, comparing it to the old TV sitcom. She laughingly says, “When life hands  you lemons, make lemonade!”

Travonna stresses to her audiences to trust in The Lord and never, ever give up! Her late son’s favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6. His great faith, witness, and wit was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Travonna believes God has a plan for everyone’s life and that God is waiting in the wings for His children to ask him for guidance and support. Jeremiah 33:3 tells us that God said, “Call on me and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

God has answered Travonna in miraculous ways that she is eager to share.
