Travonna Wootton is a wonderful inspiration to all who know her. Her ministry is one of love, grace, and beauty. She is a unique lady who brings a ray of sunshine with her wherever she goes. Given many challenges and losses, her faith remains steadfast and her love of life is unfaltering. She is a tremendous positive influence in my life and every day I thank God for her. Travonna’s uplifting spirit has taught me that our lives are meant to be filled with love, joy, and hope. Her message is one of rejoicing victory.

Travonna Wootton is as unique (and gifted) as her name suggests.  With humor, charm, and candor she recounts her personal trials and heartaches, but ultimately leaves you with an unshakable  message of triumph.  Her gripping testimony of faith and fortitude will inspire, bless, and leave you with a deeper understanding of what it means to trust God when your world seems to fall apart.

My wife and I want to share our thoughts and appreciation for the above mentioned person. She is very dear to us; she is part of our family in the Lord.

We have known her for more than eleven years, as her pastor and pastor’s wife. We hold her in the HIGHEST esteem possible. We have been with her in some of the very difficult times in her life; we were with her at the hospital when her previous husband Jim Baker passed away. Jim was a very godly man and a pillar of strength. Just before the Lord called Jim home, I promised him that we would do our very best to take care of her in every way possible as her pastor and wife. And we were also at the hospital with her when her thirty-seven year old son Dustin Baker was also called Home. I was privileged to spend a good deal of time with Dustin during his last days. He left a glorious testimony with his visions of heaven in the months preceding his death. We have also been with her as she has buried two of her siblings and other extended family members. These have been difficult times, however as she has walked through “the valley of the shadow of death” her faith has remained strong and resilient.

We have also been with her in some of the times of victory in her life. As their pastor I was invited to do the marriage ceremony for her and her present husband Verlin Wootton, another of God’s mighty warriors. She is truly blessed by God, who has given her another loving godly husband to walk beside her.

Travonna is the worship leader for our church. She is an extremely talented individual. She has a beautiful voice and from time to time sings specials for our worship service. However she also works hard to involve other ladies in our church to sing specials for our worship services. She also is a talented writer and produces very meaningful poems, such as “Where in the World is Willow?”

She is also a gifted speaker. However she is a very humble person and doesn’t push to be in the leadership. She does share her ideas and is a great team member.

She is truly beautiful on the inside and she also keeps herself attractive on the exterior. She is truly a lovely lady, who loves the Lord and is glad to be back in the church where as a child she trusted in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. It was here that she learned to love and serve the Lord. She is a VALUABLE part of our fellowship. As a vital part of our Willow team, we love and appreciate her dearly in the Lord.

The world is filled with many beautiful women; however, there are few who shine from beauty within. Travonna’s beauty is evident from her smile, the light of the Lord within her, and her passion to help others find the everlasting beauty of Christ Jesus. I have been blessed by her talks, teachings and insights. I’ve seen others being blessed by her glowing love too.

Travonna Wootton has experienced more than her share of ashes. And yet, as you listen to her story, you see her ashes turn into beauty before your eyes. She knows goodness of our Lord firsthand, and is eager for her audience to know it, too.  A beautiful woman with a beautiful heart...and a beautiful message of grace.
